“Thanks for your prayers. It was really great how God worked on Friday with our youth. I told them that I wanted 15 minutes of their time, gave them a secret knock and sent them up to our “upper room” in the dark, they were scared so they went in pairs.
I asked a member of our missionary council to come in and speak to them about North Korea, she did really well. We had two tea light candles in the room and told the group to blow out the candle if they heard anything. They didn’t hear a thing, you could have heard a pin drop (which for this youth group is a miracle in itself!) they read a passage of scripture which we’d hand written out for them (taken from Genesis) and I’d asked our Treasurer to burst in, which he did brilliantly, they got such a fright they literally jumped over one another!
We switched the lights on and after the laughter had died down we explained that if we’d been in North Korea, we’d have been arrested for meeting like this. It did have an impact on them, we had literature for them to go through which some of them did. I had asked a few of our older folk to be in prayer from 7.30pm, prayers were definately answered!
A gang (with knives) did come towards the end of the evening (we’d finished our praying) wanting to beat up one of our youth, even then God was with us, I stood outside with the gang not letting them in and I knew one of the kids in the gang, there was total peace, they left, our kids were safe, relationships were built up and God was at work!
Thanks again for this opportunity and for all you do for the Persecuted Church.
God Bless
