Networkers
Being a Networker is all about giving a shout out for our brothers and sisters who are suffering; spreading the word to people we know (in CU, youth group) that we need to pray and take action for the part of the body that is hurting:
‘When one part of the body suffers, we all suffer.’ 1 Corinthians 12:26.
What do Networkers do?
Some Networkers in the past have met up with their mates in coffee shops to speak about the Persecuted Church; others have led prayer meetings with their youth groups; raised money for Open Doors; taken part in SHOCKWAVE; led a session at
their CU in school/college; helped out at Open Doors events; put up a poster and handed out underground magazines to their youth group…
Being a Networker is basically doing your bit for your persecuted family around the world.
Tim A from Gloucester explains why he’s a Networker: “I decided to become a Networker a good few years ago now. I had been at an Open Doors conference and I had heard
Brother Andrew and members of the Persecuted Church speak. It really struck me that though we cannot all go and serve our brothers and sisters who are suffering directly, and though as young people and students we cannot always give a huge
amount financially, one thing we can all do that does really make a difference is pray. By becoming a Networker I was
better equipped to serve the persecuted Church by raising awareness of what they are going through. Being a Networker is a
great way to do your bit to move the ‘free’ Church into action and get people in your area praying for the persecuted.”
So what’s new?
We decided to give you more reasons to get involved and get praying; more identity and more training.
- Networkers 1.0 is a year’s programme
- It costs £15 and your year begins from the very moment you sign up.
- Pay £15 and you’ll receive a pack of much-desired underground goodies: the latest underground T-shirt, Open Doors lanyard with personalised pass, a choice of Brother Andrew’s amazing books ‘God’s Smuggler’ or ‘Secret Believers’; Networker handbook; you will also get a bi-monthly magazine as well as a bi-monthly phone call/email; a certificate to show you are part of the
team; and you’ll automatically receive the latest underground resources.

You already do more than you think
You’re probably doing more Networker type stuff than you think – but just missing out on the extra bits that we send out… and the coffee.
If you’ve prayed, encouraged someone else to pray, shared about or done a crazy fundraiser for persecuted Christians: then you’re probably already a Networker – just without the exclusive and extremely prestigious title of ‘Networker’ – so c’mon make it official in 2008!
The Coffee Map
Witney
This is where we usually go for coffee – it’s right near the office and there are a few nice coffee shops. It’s usually during our coffee & chat times that events are planned and resources are written.
Weston-under-Lizard
Just a place with a cool name, thats all
Yateley
We hooked up with our friends at St Peters in Yately for a spot of tea and some dead pig and an underground led youth service. Back in January.
Edinburgh
Noa and Alex from the office paid a visit to Ruth up in Scotland in the beautiful city of Edingburgh. Long distance coffee treks!
Inverness
Noa and friends took a road trip up to Inverness to pay a visit to Izi, a valued Networker. You may recognise her from such underground related happenings as the Annual Conference, the underground weekend, Walking the Great Wall of China and the youth China trip 06.
Monks Kirby
This is a small village in Warwickshire where Monks play curby – they just spell it wrong.
Monks Kirby
A place in Warwickshire where Monks actually play curby – they just spell it wrong. I think it may be the Latin spelling or something.
Cloverley Hall
Si got to hang out with the guys from Aldridge Parish Church on their weekend away at this cool house in Shropshire.
Aldridge
Open Doors held an Art of Perscution Exhibition at Aldridge Parish Church. The youth, who Si got to hang out with on their weekend away, dressed up smart and became waiters for the posh openning evening. Thanks to the underground Reps!
Aberdeen
We’ve been far and wide – Aberdeen is one of our nothern most visits! We saw our Souled Out buddies over the SHOCKWAVE weekend.
