Hope Academy - Boot Camp

15 April 08

Ever watch Xfactor and watch the episode all about the bootcamp? Well Hope Academy had a bootcamp for all its London finalists too, except God was involved in all areas….how cool is that?

On Friday evening, the finalists began to arrive at the conference centre. Some had travelled as far as Aberdeen and Belfast. The Friday evening was spent by the finalists getting to know their mentors; part of which included writing and performing a song about each mentor in the space of 30 mins. Eek, now that takes some talent!

Saturday morning arrived and the finalists had to be up bright and early ready for a big day ahead. After breakfast and devotions, the first sessions of a jam-packed schedule started where the finalists learnt about Stage Technique led by Tim Owen from Genetik with the Message and how to Keep in the Spirit while in the music industry by Simon Trundle, Martin Smith from Delirious, Mentor.

Later on, all the finalists had performance sessions where they were able to practise and enhance their London Final act which you will have the oppurtunity to see on May 10. By the end of the bootcamp, all the acts had gone through more sessions such as Secular Expectations led by Noel Robinson and Self-Projection Led by Tim Owen.

The bootcamp wasn’t only just about helping to enhance London Final performances, there were oppurtunities to learn more about the Persecuted Church and how to communicate the gospel through the arts!

Our thanks go to all the mentors, Tim Owen from Genetik, Emma Owen from God TV, Noel Robinson who is a worhship leader and has worked with the likes of Chacka Khan and Hannah Latty from Massive UK.

Our thanks also go out to all those who lead sessions, Simon Trundle, Martin Smith’s Mentor and Hannah Jackson from Massive UK.
